Our choices have real impacts—flying from New York to San Francisco and back has a trip footprint equal to over a year of CO2 output from a person in India. But you can't expect someone to make lower-carbon choices if they don't know how the options compare.
This site is meant to help bridge that information gap by graphically representing data that would otherwise be stuck in research reports. Our models are based largely on the excellent "Getting There Greener" report (any mistakes are our own). Buses and trains are still the best way to get around; we've contacted Greyhound, and hope to include them in in the future.
